Fiona has been teaching in the Baltimore and D.C area for over 20 years. She teaches all levels from total beginners, both children and adults, to those preparing for college auditions and beyond. Her teaching style is very flexible and varied depending on each student’s needs. Not everyone learns the same way or wants the same things. It is important to recognize this and set goals based on this information.
Fiona’s students have plenty of opportunity to play in the area. They participate in the MMEA State Solo and Ensemble adjudications and always receive high scores. She has had many students gain principal or section positions for Maryland’s All State Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestra, Howard County Gifted and Talented Orchestras, and the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestra. She also holds recitals for her students so that they can practice performing in a friendly and confidence building environment.
As well as running her private studio, she has also taught at Messiah College and Levine School of Music. She is a regular coach at chamber music camps, and has also served as an adjudicator for auditions and competitions.
Fiona is always open to new student inquires. For contact information, click here.
